Big enough to do it all and small enough to know you by name.
Early in the spring of 1909, a group of farmers and merchants gathered to establish a bank in a small Virginia town known then as Stanleyton. On December 3, 1909, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Inc. opened for business with ten thousand dollars in capital stock. Over one hundred-fifteen years later, this independent and locally-owned bank, still serving its neighbors in Page County, was renamed Pioneer Bank.
Why Pioneer?
Pioneers break new ground and blaze trails that others follow. Alongside their neighbors, pioneers build communities with a collaborative can-do energy.
This pioneering spirit, as important today as it was when the Bank was first established, is at the heart of all we do. Pioneer Bank is independent, community-owned, and committed to the well-being and economic advancement of the Shenandoah Valley and Central Piedmont regions of Virginia.
